S$30 million allocated to improve water treatment processes and operations in Singapore

While more energy-intensive sources such as NEWater and desalinated water will meet up to 85 percent of Singapore’s water needs by 2020. The agency has launched three Requests for Proposals (RFPs): enhancing energy efficiency of water and used water treatment processes; the second one is about enhancing water efficiency in industries through water recycling or reducing water consumption; the third one seeks smart technologies (such as robotics, drones, automation, data analytics and informatics) to minimise manpower requirements.
